The Hanson Lake Road runs 225 miles between Flin FLon, Manitoba and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Jan Lake is located fifty miles northwest of Flin Flon on mile post 180. It is a paved, well maintained road. Sportswriters have called it a "Sportsman's Smorgasbord" of the "Little Alcan Hi-Way". The reason for this is there are all kinds of species of fish that have been stocked in some of the smaller lakes on your drive up to Jan Lake. These lakes are well marked. Stores and Services are located along the road. If you live in the surrounding cities such as Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Minot, North Dakota or Bismarck, North Dakota, it is a one day drive. P.S. Remember 3/4 of the world's surface is covered with water, so it goes to show that the Good Lord wanted you to do more fishing than plowing. |
